El plástico y su impacto en ambientes naturales, ha sido una preocupación en estos últimos años. Si bien reemplazar el plástico por otros materiales de mayor duración o más amigables con el ambiente permite una disminución en el plástico producido en el mundo, aún queda la pregunta sobre qué hacer con el plástico que ya ha sido producido, desechado y está generando un impacto en el ambiente. En este proyecto se contempla la posibilidad de utilizar los residuos de polietileno de baja y alta densidad, presente como el plástico de un solo uso, conocido como el residuo inorgánico con mayor presencia en vertederos y entornos naturales, para la fabricación de elementos domésticos y de oficina con una vida útil más larga que su materia prima, a través de la recolección del y limpieza del material, para su posterior transformación. Uno de los beneficios que traerá este proyecto es la reducción de los desechos plásticos y la fabricación de elementos que requieran de este material en su producción, lo que conlleva a la disminución de la presencia del plástico de un solo uso en los vertederos o el ambiente natural. Con base en la anterior caracterización del problema establecido, es posible decir que la implementación de este proyecto contribuirá de forma directa a la reducción del plástico como un residuo problema en la ciudad de Bogotá. Teniendo en cuenta la fundamentación del proyecto, la cual implica el reciclaje de plásticos, específicamente Polietileno de baja y de alta densidad, se llevará a cabo una transformación de este, con el fin de ofrecer un nuevo producto que pueda vincularse una vez más al proceso productivo. También, debido a la naturaleza y origen de la materia prima, se pretende que el precio final del producto permite una mayor accesibilidad a personas de escasos recursos económicos.

Plastic and its impact on natural environments have been a concern in recent years. Although replacing plastic with other materials that last longer or are more environmentally friendly allows a decrease in the plastic produced in the world, there is still the question of what to do with plastic that has already been produced, discarded and is generating an impact in the environment. This project contemplates the possibility of using low and high-density polyethylene waste, present as single-use plastic, known as the inorganic waste with the greatest presence in landfills and natural environments, for the manufacture of household and office items with a longer useful life than its raw material, through the collection of and cleaning of the material, for its subsequent transformation. One of the benefits that this project will bring is the reduction of plastic waste and the manufacture of elements that require this material in its production, which will lead to a decrease in the presence of single-use plastic in landfills or the environment. De Based on the previous characterization of the established problem, it is possible to say that the implementation of this project will contribute directly to the reduction of plastic as a problem waste in the city of Bogotá. Considering the foundation of the project, which involves the recycling of plastics, specifically Low- and High-Density Polyethylene, a transformation will be carried out in order to offer a new product that can once again be linked to the process productive. Also, due to the nature and origin of the raw material, it is intended that the final price of the product allows greater accessibility to people with limited economic resources.
