Teatro libre: política para la creación y creación política

Abstract

Resumen: El presente artículo está compuesto por tres partes. En la primera, se habla sobre la tendencia política en el origen del Teatro Libre; la segunda, es una selección de apartes de una entrevista realizada a uno de los cofundadores del mismo; y la tercera, apunta a analizar la obra teatral La agonía del difunto de Esteban Navajas como uno de los ejemplos más claros del teatro político en Colombia. En general, el texto muestra que en los orígenes del teatro colombiano fue posible fusionar de manera exitosa la estética del lenguaje dramatúrgico con la creación de un discurso político que se convirtiera en una voz artística que se alzara frente a las constantes injusticias cometidas en el país. Abstract: This article is composed of three parts. The first one talks about political bias in the origin of the Teatro Libre; second, is a selection of excerpts from an interview with one of the cofounders of this company, and the third, aims to analyze La agonía del difunto by Esteban Navajas as one of the clearest examples of political theater in Colombia. In general, the text shows that the origins of Colombian theater was possible to successfully merge the aesthetics of language playwrights with the creation of a political speech it became an artistic voice that shall rise against the continuing injustices in the country.
