Aplicación para estimación anticipada de agitación pacientes de alzheimer

Abstract

Este proyecto busca desarrollar una aplicación tecnológica basada en el análisis de datos para predecir episodios de agitación en pacientes con Alzheimer, transformando el cuidado reactivo en preventivo. El problema central es la agitación disruptiva que agota a los cuidadores y afecta la calidad de vida del paciente. Los objetivos incluyen definir variables conductuales en un registro digital estandarizado, implementar un modelo de aprendizaje automático para estimar riesgos y evaluar su desempeño mediante pruebas piloto. Se analiza la viabilidad técnica considerando la privacidad y sostenibilidad. La investigación parte de la hipótesis de que un registro digital organizado reduce la carga mental del cuidador y mejora su seguridad al manejar la enfermedad. Integrando la ciencia de datos y la salud en el contexto colombiano, el estudio busca anticipar crisis para facilitar intervenciones tempranas que mejoren la gestión del cuidado y el bienestar de las familias afectadas.

This project proposes to develop a technological application based on data analysis to predict agitation episodes in Alzheimer's patients, changing from reactive to preventive care. The root cause is disruptive agitation that exhausts caregivers and affects the patient's quality of life. Objectives include defining behavioral variables in a standardized digital record, implementing a machine learning model for risk estimation, and evaluating its performance through pilot tests. Technical viability is analyzed considering privacy and sustainability. The research is based on the hypothesis that an organized digital record reduces the caregiver's mental burden and enhances their sense of security in managing the disease. By integrating data science and healthcare within the Colombian context, the study seeks to anticipate crises to facilitate early interventions that improve care management and the well-being of affected families.
