The aim of the study of mixed sequential design was to analyze the preferences of millennial women about the most important distillate in Chile: pisco. The data were collected through a survey (n = 399) and a focus group (n = 8), applied to consumers from the largest distillate production area in the country (Coquimbo Region). The information was examined through cluster analysis (K-means), binary logistic regression and the content analysis technique. The results revealed that pisco is perceived as a socializing drink, preferred both for its intrinsic and extrinsic attributes. Elements that inhibit their consumption were also observed (advertising focused on the male gender and deficient nutritional content) and four differentiable segments were identified according to sociodemographic and behavioral variables. Finally, factors that significantly affect the degree of loyalty towards the drink were determined, such as taste, presentation, advertising and income level. It is concluded that the current commercial proposals don’t represent, nor do they adequately satisfy the needs of millennial women. The results are expected to provide relevant information for pisco companies to develop effective business strategies, based on the preferences of a market with great development potential.eng
