The Kennedy Limpio mobile application prototype will be an innovative platform designed to improve citizen participation in solid waste management in Kennedy. It seeks to integrate waste management and citizen participation, improve efficiency and waste collection and disposal, foster collaboration among key stakeholders, and provide information and environmental education. Climate change has increased concern about the way in which the world is inhabited by human beings, who in their eagerness to provide themselves with resources, have been generating irreversible damage to the ecosystem, which has accelerated the creation of regulations and policies aimed at conserving natural resources and caring for the environment. In this sense, technological tools have opened up possibilities to favor environmental care, among which the following can be mentioned: circular economy, participatory citizenship, environmental sustainability, open government and the internet of things.
