Influencia del nivel socioeconómico y la escolaridad en la tasa de embarazo adolescente.

Abstract

El embarazo adolescente es un problema de salud pública que afecta de manera desproporcionada a las regiones de bajos ingresos, especialmente en América Latina y el Caribe. A pesar de una tendencia decreciente a nivel mundial, esta reducción no ha sido uniforme, y las tasas en estas regiones siguen siendo altas. En este contexto, la investigación busca realizar un perfilamiento del embarazo adolescente a partir de variables socioeconómicas, el nivel de escolarización, entre otras variables que influyen en la tasa de embarazo adolescente en Colombia. A través de un enfoque cuantitativo, se identificarán riesgos y perfiles del fenómeno, de tal forma que permita orientar la focalización de acciones y medidas de control. La clusterización es una de las técnicas de Machine Learning que busca agrupar una serie de variables de manera que en los grupos que se formen queden las entradas más comunes, en este caso del embarazo adolescente a partir de datos de la Encuesta Nacional de Demografía y Salud (ENDS) para Colombia, construyendo con ello perfiles del embarazo adolescente.

Adolescent pregnancy is a public health issue that disproportionately affects low-income regions, particularly in Latin America and the Caribbean. Despite a global downward trend, this reduction has not been uniform, and the rates in these regions remain high. In this context, the research aims to profile adolescent pregnancy based on socioeconomic variables, educational attainment, and other factors that influence adolescent pregnancy rates in Colombia. Through a quantitative approach, risks and profiles of the phenomenon will be identified to guide the targeting of actions and control measures. Clustering is one of the Machine Learning techniques used to group a series of variables so that the most common entries are grouped together within the clusters. In this case, it will be applied to adolescent pregnancy data from the National Demographic and Health Survey (ENDS) for Colombia, thereby constructing profiles of adolescent pregnancy.
