dc.description.abstractLa sostenibilidad se ha consolidado como un principio orientador de la gestión organizacional contemporánea, impulsando la necesidad de integrar criterios económicos, sociales y ambientales en los procesos de toma de decisiones. En el sector salud, las Instituciones Prestadoras de Servicios de Salud (IPS) enfrentan desafíos asociados a la eficiencia operativa, la calidad de los servicios, la gestión ambiental y la generación de valor para los grupos de interés. Sin embargo, la literatura evidencia una limitada articulación entre sostenibilidad y gerencia de proyectos en este contexto, así como la ausencia de modelos empíricamente validados que permitan comprender los factores organizacionales asociados a la adopción de prácticas sostenibles. En respuesta a esta problemática, la presente investigación tuvo como objetivo desarrollar y validar un modelo de gerencia de proyectos sostenibles aplicable a las IPS públicas y privadas de Colombia, integrando variables organizacionales y dimensiones de sostenibilidad en una estructura explicativa orientada a fortalecer la gestión institucional. El enfoque de la investigación es cuantitativo y su diseño es no experimental y transversal, con un alcance explicativo. Para la recolección de información, se aplicó un instrumento estructurado a Instituciones Prestadoras de Servicios de Salud de Colombia. Una vez recopilados los datos, se analizaron mediante estadística descriptiva, análisis de confiabilidad mediante alfa de Cronbach, análisis correlacional, construcción de un Índice Global de Sostenibilidad (IGS) y regresión logística binaria con la finalidad de medir el nivel de asociación entre las variables organizacionales estudiadas y los mayores niveles de adopción de prácticas sostenibles. En virtud de los resultados obtenidos, se determinó que la sostenibilidad en la gerencia de proyectos tiene sus asociaciones principales con el tamaño organizacional, la antigüedad institucional y la existencia de políticas ambientales formalizadas. Estas asociaciones también fueron observadas en las dimensiones de la propia variable de sostenibilidad, entre las que sobresale la dimensión producto o servicio como elemento articulador del sistema. Los indicadores de ajuste arrojaron evidencia suficiente para considerarse satisfactorios y con una capacidad explicativa consistente con la naturaleza compleja de los fenómenos organizacionales estudiados. Seguido de la obtención de dichos hallazgos, se procedió a estructurar un modelo conceptual de gerencia de proyectos sostenibles dividido en tres niveles estrechamente relacionados: 1) condiciones organizacionales habilitantes, 2) prácticas de gestión sostenible y 3) resultados organizacionales sostenibles. Gracias a este modelo ha sido posible comprender la interacción entre capacidades institucionales y procesos de gestión como sustento de la sostenibilidad como un fenómeno sistémico. Es así como el trabajo desarrollado ha aportado evidencia empírica al conocimiento disponible sobre la gerencia de proyectos sostenibles en el sector salud a través de la propuesta de un modelo explicativo contextualizado para las IPS colombianas. Dicho modelo contribuye al fortalecimiento de la sostenibilidad organizacional y la generación de valor sostenible fungiendo como herramienta de apoyo para la formulación de estrategias centradas en las instituciones prestadoras de servicios de salud.spa
dc.description.abstractSustainability has become a guiding principle of contemporary organizational management, promoting the integration of economic, social, and environmental criteria into decision-making processes. In the healthcare sector, Healthcare Service Provider Institutions (IPS) face challenges related to operational efficiency, service quality, environmental management, and value creation for stakeholders. However, the literature reveals limited integration between sustainability and project management in this context, as well as the absence of empirically validated models capable of explaining the organizational factors associated with the adoption of sustainable practices. To address this gap, this research aimed to develop and validate a sustainable project management model applicable to public and private Healthcare Service Provider Institutions in Colombia, integrating organizational variables and sustainability dimensions into an explanatory framework designed to strengthen institutional management. The study adopted a quantitative approach with a non-experimental, cross-sectional, and explanatory design. Data were collected through a structured survey administered to Colombian healthcare institutions. The analytical process included descriptive statistics, reliability analysis using Cronbach’s alpha, correlation analysis, the construction of a Global Sustainability Index (GSI), and binary logistic regression to identify organizational variables associated with higher levels of sustainable practice adoption. The findings revealed that sustainability in project management is primarily associated with organizational size, institutional maturity, and the existence of formal environmental policies. Significant relationships were also identified among the sustainability dimensions evaluated, highlighting the product and service dimension as a central element within the sustainability system. The model demonstrated satisfactory goodness-of-fit indicators and explanatory capacity consistent with the complexity of organizational phenomena. Based on these findings, a conceptual sustainable project management model was developed, consisting of three interrelated levels: enabling organizational conditions, sustainable management practices, and sustainable organizational outcomes. The model supports the understanding of sustainability as a systemic phenomenon resulting from the interaction between institutional capabilities and management processes. The main contribution of this research lies in providing empirical evidence to the field of sustainable project management within the healthcare sector through a contextualized explanatory model for Colombian healthcare institutions. From a practical perspective, the model offers a decision-support framework for designing strategies aimed at strengthening organizational sustainability and creating long-term sustainable value.eng
