En la última década, se ha venido desarrollando en el país la implementación de la metodología BIM para el seguimiento y control de proyectos de construcción, con el propósito de realizar un control integral desde las etapas tempranas de maduración de los proyectos hasta la ejecución y cierre de los mismos. Con base en la política planteada en 2019 por el Gobierno Nacional, a través del documento CONPES 3975, El Departamento Nacional de Planeación, con el apoyo de la embajada británica en Colombia, de la Cámara Colombiana de la Construcción - CAMACOL y de BIM FORUM Colombia entre otros, a finales del 2020 plantean la Estrategia Nacional BIM 2020- 2026 (DNP - MINTIC - DAPRE, 2019). Teniendo en cuenta que a la fecha han transcurrido más de dos años desde la formulación de esta estrategia, resulta procedente adelantar una evaluación y seguimiento que permita establecer si para el 2026 el país contará con las herramientas suficientes para hacer obligatoria la implementación de la Metodología BIM a nivel nacional.

In the last decade, the implementation of the BIM methodology for the monitoring and control of construction projects has been developing in the country. BIM methodology for the monitoring and control of construction projects, with the purpose of performing an integral control from the early stages of project maturation to the execution and closure of the projects. Based on the policy raised in 2019 by the National Government, through the document CONPES 3975, The National Planning Department, with the support of the British Embassy in Colombia, the Colombian Chamber of Construction -CAMACOL and BIM FORUM Colombia among others, at the end of 2020 raise the National BIM Strategy 2020-2026 (DNP - MINTIC - DAPRE, 2019). Taking into account that to date more than two years have passed since the formulation of this strategy, it is appropriate to evaluation and follow-up to establish whether by 2026 the country will have sufficient tools to make the mandatory the tools to make the implementation of the BIM Methodology mandatory at the national level by 2026 at the national level.
