In the history of economic development in Santander, manufacturing participates a critical role, according to the departmental economic and commercial profile offered by the Ministry of Commerce, Industry, and Tourism of Colombia, in the composition of the GDP of the department of Santander. Manufacturing industries contribute 16.5% of the total. Consid-ering the above, the purpose of this paper is to analyze the particularities of the economic/financial dynamics of the manufacturing companies of Santander between the years 2016-2021. The descriptive quantitative method was applied in 24 industrial subsectors to achieve this goal, identifying the behaviour of assets, liabilities, equity, sales, and profits. Based on the above, the results show the economic growth of most of the subsectors in the period investigated. The evolution of enterprises between 2017 and 2020 has registered an increase in the survival rate.

En la historia del desarrollo económico de Santander, la industria manufacturera participa de manera crítica, según el perfil económico y comercial departamental ofrecido por el Ministerio de Comercio, Industria y Turismo de Colombia, en la composición del PIB del departamento de Santander. . Las industrias manufactureras aportan el 16,5% del total. Considerando lo anterior, el propósito de este trabajo es analizar las particularidades de la dinámica económico-financiera de las empresas manufactureras de Santander entre los años 2016-2021. Para lograr este objetivo se aplicó el método cuantitativo descriptivo en 24 subsectores industriales, identificando el comportamiento de activos, pasivos, patrimonio, ventas y utilidades. Con base en lo anterior, los resultados muestran el crecimiento económico de la mayoría de los subsectores en el período investigado. La evolución de las empresas entre 2017 y 2020 ha registrado un aumento en la tasa de supervivencia.
