The distribution of Electric Power in the city of Bogotá is fundamental to guarantee the growth and development of the different sectors of the local economy. The quality in the provision of the service, in the majority of users, is perceived as the minimum possibility of interruptions and its duration, as well as receiving acceptable electrical parameters. To guarantee this permanent availability of the service and to minimize the effects on the user, avoiding penalties considerable, the operator of the energy distribution service in the capital has a budget for the maintenance of its assets, which by the year 2018 was close to 246,000 millions of pesos. However, despite being an important amount of money, it was not possible to avoid failures or sudden cuts. In many cases the interventions were corrective and the service was interrupted unexpectedly for users. On the other hand, we have a state entity with state-of-the-art technology that captures and stores climate data in more than fifty hydro climatological information stations in the city. In the present investigation through the use of KDD and data mining, it is possible to conclude how with the current information on the part of the operator of the energy distribution system in Bogotá and the information captured and stored by the Institute of Hydrology, Meteorology and Environmental Studies (IDEAM) are related, allowing to establish a model that helps improve quality indicators, in the provision of the service, when the operator moves forward with programmed actions to future failures, in this way resources can be distributed in a more efficient manner, achieving significant savings in the budget and increasing user satisfaction.eng
