En la actualidad la crisis climática representa un desafío para la humanidad, y las posibles acciones que se puedan realizar para reducir la contaminación y minimizar cualquier impacto negativo sobre el medio ambiente aportan un valor significativo en la tarea de contrarrestar estos efectos, es por esto que, el objetivo de este capitulo es investigar el potencial de la fibra de la cáscara de coco como reemplazo de diferentes materiales derivados del petróleo que se utilizan para la creación de esponjas convencionales, siendo un material aprovechable, biodegradable y sostenible.

Currently, the climate crisis represents a challenge for humanity, and the possible actions that can be taken to reduce pollution and minimize any negative impact on the environment provide significant value in the task of counteracting these effects, which is why , the objective of this chapter is to investigate the potential of coconut shell fiber as a replacement for different petroleum-derived materials that are used to create conventional sponges, being a usable, biodegradable and sustainable material.
