Working conditions and health of women who are domestic service employees in the neighborhoods of Barrio Vergel in the city of Ibagué, Tolima

Abstract

El ante proyecto de investigación sobre las empleadas del servicio doméstico en los conjuntos del barrio vergel de la ciudad de Ibagué, Tolima; consiste en profundizar en las condiciones de trabajo y de salud de esta población objeto a fin de presentar un posible marco de análisis como resultado de la investigación en relación del servicio doméstico y la carencia de trabajo laboral digno en esta profesión; pues se pretende encontrar que más del 50% de las empleadas domesticas tengan unas buenas condiciones de trabajo y de salud. De igual manera destacar testimonios, donde expresen los aspectos agradables de esta labor, y cuales pueden ser las metas que han logrado cumplir gracias al empleo como trabajadoras domésticas. Finalmente, se consideran acciones que contribuyen a que la labor del servicio doméstico sea más amable y justo, generando seguridad y salud en la colaboradora.

The first research project on domestic service employees in the complexes of the Vergel neighborhood of the city of Ibagué, Tolima; It consists of delving into the working and health conditions of this target population in order to present a possible framework for analysis as a result of the research in relation to domestic service and the lack of decent work in this profession; It is intended to find that more than 50% of domestic employees have good working and health conditions. In the same way, highlight testimonies, where they express the pleasant aspects of this work, and what may be the goals that they have achieved thanks to their employment as domestic workers. Finally, actions are considered that contribute to making domestic service work more friendly and fair, generating safety and health in the employee.
