Gestión de Proyectos Sostenibles en las Empresas del Sector Turístico de Alojamiento del Departamento del Quindío

Abstract

Identificar cuáles son los elementos que deben conformar el modelo de Sostenibilidad del Sector Turístico de los alojamientos rurales del departamento del Quindío, es la pregunta que motiva iniciar esta investigación, que parte de conocer el contexto en el que los alojamientos rurales desarrollan su actividad, pese a la baja rentabilidad económica que les representa. El sector turístico es un renglón importante para la economía del país, en 2019 representó el 3.82% del Producto Interno Bruto, apalancando empleos, proveedores de bienes y servicios locales, regionales y nacionales; sin embargo, no todos los operadores turísticos que hacen parte de la cadena de valor, obtienen el margen de utilidad necesario para garantizar su sostenibilidad. Este estudio se centra en los alojamientos rurales con capacidad entre 10-40 personas, los cuales en los últimos años han reportado un flujo de reservas por el orden del 49% en temporada alta (junio-julio, diciembre-enero), y el resto del año se ven afectados por el fenómeno de la estacionalidad. Esta investigación se aborda desde tres fases principales, primero, la identificación y análisis de referentes teóricos asociados con la sostenibilidad no solo económica sino también social, ambiental, gobernanza y tecnológica; segundo, el diseño y aplicación de un instrumento de recolección de información en campo, el cual fue contestado por 40 empresarios dueños y/o administradores de alojamientos; y tercero, la formulación de un modelo que responda a la realidad actual del sector de alojamientos turísticos del Quindío, acompañado de un plan de acción que le permita enrutarse hacia la sostenibilidad.

Identifying which are the elements that should make up the Sustainability model of the Tourism Sector of rural accommodation in the department of Quindío, is the question that motivates the beginning of this investigation, which starts from knowing the context in which rural accommodation develops its economic activity, despite the low profitability that represents them. The tourism sector is an important line for the country's economy, in 2019 it represented 3.82% of the Gross Domestic Product, leveraging jobs, providers of local, regional and national goods and services; however, not all tour operators that are part of the value chain obtain the necessary profit margin to guarantee their sustainability. This study focuses on rural accommodation with a capacity between 10-40 people, which in recent years have reported a flow of reservations of the order of 49% in high season (June-July, December-January), and the rest of the year. Are affected by the phenomenon of seasonality. This research is approached from three main phases, first, the identification and analysis of theoretical referents associated with sustainability, not only economic but also social, environmental, governance and technological; second, the design and application of an instrument for collecting information in the field, which was answered by 40 businessmen and/or lodging managers; and third, the formulation of a model that responds to the current reality of the Quindío tourist accommodation sector, accompanied by an action plan that allows it to move towards sustainability.
