A través de la realización de entrevistas sobre la aplicación de la sostenibilidad en la actividad edificadora a empresas constructoras, la consulta de material de referencia de certificaciones y el seguimiento a la normatividad vigente, se realizó un diagnóstico sobre la condición actual de la construcción sostenible enfocada a proyectos de vivienda de clase media no VIS dentro del Área Metropolitana del Valle de Aburrá. De allí, y considerando que el sector de la construcción es uno de los pilares de la economía regional, se identifica la necesidad de reenfocar la participación del Estado, la Empresa y la Sociedad para mejorar la relación con el medio ambiente y el bienestar de las comunidades. Para lograrlo, es imprescindible un cambio de paradigma en el sector, el asentamiento de las buenas prácticas que se están llevando a cabo dentro de la región y la generación de medidas públicas y privadas que permitan el acceso a beneficios tangibles para los clientes y las constructoras.

Through interviews on the application of sustainability in the building activity to construction companies, the consultation of reference material for certifications and the monitoring of current regulations, a diagnosis was made on the current condition of sustainable construction focused on non-VIS middle class housing projects within the Área Metropolitana del Valle de Aburrá. From there, and considering that the construction sector is one of the pillars of the regional economy, the need to refocus the participation of the State, the Company and the Society to improve the relationship with the environment and the welfare of the communities was identified. To achieve this, a change of paradigm in the sector is essential, the establishment of good practices that are being carried out within the region and the generation of public and private measures that allow access to tangible benefits for clients and construction companies.
